Featured Client: Project Maria

Project Maria is a non-profit organization whose mission is to share accurate information to ensure that those affected by eating disorders are more understood and receive superior care. Project Maria was formed in response to the 2015 death of Maria Dorn, a 17-year-old girl from Rock County, Wisconsin, who struggled with anorexia nervosa. This organization means a lot to me, because Maria is my niece, and I, along with the rest of our family, loved her, celebrated her wins, and ultimately mourned her devastating loss.

This project came to me as a redesign; one of the organization’s founders had built its original website using the tools available with their hosting plan and created any desired printed material in Word.

Pink Sky Creative provided the organization with completely updated visuals including a new logo, website, and brochures, all with a cohesive appearance. We were careful to choose muted colors and a peaceful, calming design, since the topic of eating disorders has the potential to cause great anxiety for those whose lives have been touched by this or other mental illness.

We also had the privilege to work with Project Maria just this month to create an informative video dealing with eating disorders and the holiday season. It can be found on the Project Maria website and Facebook page, and we have also embedded it below. It is the heartfelt desire of both Project Maria and Pink Sky Creative that this video may help anyone whose life has been affected by an eating disorder navigate the holidays successfully. Please feel free to share it anywhere and with anyone who could benefit from the information it provides.
